Engineered Mesh Upper
Featuring an engineered mesh upper, the New Balance 880 provides increased breathability in key areas while offering a snug fit. This mesh keeps feet secure within the shoes while allowing fresh, cool air to travel around your foot for optimum comfort. In addition, a seamless design means reduced weight and minimal risk of rubbing and blisters. The soft, plush tongue secures the midfoot and prevents stones from entering, further enhancing comfort. Completing the upper, the shoes have a traditional lacing system to provide a secure, locked-in fit, reducing in-shoe slipping.
Fresh Foam X Midsole
The 880v15 utilises New Balance's Fresh Foam X cushioning. The latest model of Fresh Foam technology provides a more energetic rebound than its predecessor. Absorbing shock impact, the Fresh Foam X midsole protects against joint stress when striking hard, unforgiving surfaces without compromising a responsive, natural ride. Delivering plush underfoot cushioning, the midsole is a fusion of plush foam and advanced design, creating an ultra-cushioned and geometrically sound ride. Fresh Foam encourages a smooth heel-toe transition, reduces muscle damage, diminishes fatigue, allowing you to push further for longer. This midsole uses approximately 3% bio-based content to offer a smaller carbon footprint whilst providing incredible comfort.
